Debate Program at Coll\u00e8ge des Fr\u00e8res \u2013 Bethlehem<\/strong><\/h1>

The Debate Program at Coll\u00e8ge des Fr\u00e8res \u2013 Bethlehem<\/strong> is more than just a club \u2014 it\u2019s a vision. Led by Mr. Basil Alkhoury<\/strong> and Ms. Banan Yousif<\/strong>, the program is built on the belief that communication, critical thinking, and respectful dialogue are essential for shaping the leaders of tomorrow.<\/p>

Debate empowers students to express themselves confidently, argue constructively, and think globally. Our program trains students in various debate formats, including Model United Nations (MUN)<\/strong> and World Schools Style<\/strong>, and prepares them to participate in high-level competitions across Palestine and internationally.<\/p>

With a commitment to excellence, Mr. Basil and Ms. Banan are constantly exploring the most effective and modern techniques in debate education. The program also focuses on building a wider debate culture in Palestine by training future debaters, adjudicators, and student leaders<\/strong> who can carry this legacy forward.<\/p>

Our mission<\/b> is to create a new generation of Palestinian debaters<\/strong> who are not only skilled in argumentation but also aware, empathetic, and engaged citizens of the world.<\/p>

Debate Events & International Participation<\/span><\/p>

Our students have proudly represented Coll\u00e8ge des Fr\u00e8res in both local and international arenas:PalMUN \u2013 Friends School, Ramallah<\/strong> (3 Days)<\/span><\/p>

  • Our delegation took part in the <\/span>Palestinian Model United Nations (PalMUN)<\/strong> hosted at the Friends School in Ramallah. Over three days of intense negotiations, speeches, and committee work, our students stood out for their diplomacy, research, and leadership. This event gave them the opportunity to debate current global issues with students from across Palestine.

    • \u00a0Monza International Debate Tournament \u2013 Italy<\/strong> (1 Week)
      In one of our proudest milestones, our team traveled to Monza, Italy<\/strong>, to participate in the Monza International Debate Tournament<\/strong>, competing with schools from around the world. The experience not only strengthened their debating skills but also enriched them culturally, socially, and intellectually. It was a week filled with workshops, formal debates, intercultural dialogue, and lifelong friendships.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
