Today, Saturday, August 22, 2026, Frères Secondary School – Bethlehem launched the new academic year in an atmosphere filled with hope and enthusiasm. The opening included a special symbolic ceremony in which the school’s graduates passed the Torch of Knowledge to this year’s Grade 12 students, representing the continuation of learning and service from one generation to the next.
Representing the Scientific Stream, graduate Hassan Allou passed the Torch of Knowledge to student Adham Najajreh.
Representing the Literary Stream, graduate Saqr Ramadan passed the torch to student Joyce Al-Kaseeh.
Representing the GCE Stream, graduate Christina Mitri Elias Abu Ghattas passed the torch to student Georgios Khalil Atallah Abu Ghattas.
This symbolic moment embodies the enduring mission of Frères School across generations. Each graduating class continues the journey begun by those who came before it, carrying the responsibility of knowledge, excellence, and values before passing the torch to future generations.
During the ceremony, the school principal, the esteemed educator Ekhlas Bannoura, delivered a welcoming address to the students as the new academic year began. She expressed her pride in the outstanding results achieved by the school’s students last year, emphasizing that these accomplishments were the fruit of continuous effort and cooperation among students, teachers, the administration, and families.
She also stressed that the school will continue working to provide the best possible educational and nurturing environment, develop its teaching methods, and respond to students’ needs. These efforts will ensure the continuation of the academic and educational excellence for which Frères School has been known throughout its history.
The students who received the Torch of Knowledge affirmed their determination to continue their educational journey at the school with dedication and diligence. They pledged to uphold the outstanding standards achieved by previous generations and to make this year another year of success and accomplishment.
The graduates who passed on the torch emphasized that leaving the classroom does not mean the end of their connection with their school. Rather, they will always remain ambassadors of Frères School, its values, and its mission wherever they go, representing their school in a manner worthy of its distinguished history and students.
