Atallah and Georgeous Abu Ghattas won recognition in Al-Nayzak’s TechTalent competition for a system designed to monitor and cool water at their family’s poultry farm, which houses around 20,000 chickens.

Their project combines temperature sensors, microcontrollers and wireless communication to address heat stress. The school’s report describes improvements in water temperature and egg quality during the project’s trials. The award includes a funded learning opportunity at the Kennedy Space Center in the United States. The school congratulates the students on applying technical learning to a practical challenge.
