Mr. Basil Alkhoury, together with his colleague Mrs. Banan Yousif and several experienced members of the school’s Debate Club, welcomed more than 40 new debaters joining the school’s debate activities this year.
The Debate Club sessions will take place every Saturday, under the guidance of Mr. Alkhoury and Mrs. Yousif, with the aim of developing students’ skills in critical thinking, public speaking, argumentation, teamwork, respectful dialogue, and confidence.
The first session began with an enthusiastic and motivational welcome. Senior Debate Club members helped introduce the new students to the spirit of debate, while Rama Awad and William Juha delivered an excellent presentation in which they shared their experiences and encouraged the new debaters to take part with confidence and enthusiasm.
Throughout the session, the students demonstrated remarkable discipline, engagement, and eagerness to learn, creating a very positive start to what we hope will be a year full of meaningful discussions, challenges, personal growth, and achievement.
We are proud to see the growing interest in debate among our students and look forward to another successful year of dialogue, learning, and excellence.
