Saint John Baptist de La Salle Chess Tournament Unites Private Schools in Bethlehem
With the participation of several private schools from Bethlehem, Collège des Frères – Bethlehem hosted the Saint John Baptist de La Salle Chess Tournament, featuring players from:
Dar Al-Kalima School, the Swedish School, St. Joseph, Terra Sancta, Talitha Kumi, Latin Patriarchate School – Beit Jala, the American School – Beit Jala and Beit Sahour, Greek Catholic School, Latin Patriarchate School – Beit Sahour, and the Shepherds’ Orthodox School – Beit Sahour.
The tournament followed the Swiss system across five rounds and was marked by a spirit of fair competition and excitement. Students demonstrated impressive strategic thinking and sportsmanship throughout the event.
The top four winners were:
- 🥇 1st Place (Champion): Michael Jarad – Latin Patriarchate School / Beit Jala
- 🥈 2nd Place: Ahmad Darwish – Collège des Frères/ Bethlehem
- 🥉 3rd Place: Lian Ramadan – Collège des Frères / Bethlehem
- 🏅 4th Place: Ahmad Al-Barbari – Shepherds’ Orthodox School / Beit Sahour
